New Funding for our First Responders

As an emergency physician, I’ve witnessed firsthand the lifesaving work our first responders perform every day—often at great personal risk. That’s why I’m proud to announce that more than $160,000 in grant funding has been approved for local fire and EMS companies in our district to support their critical mission and strengthen emergency services in our community.

I will always work to ensure that our first responders have the resources they need.

I recently had the opportunity to visit our dedicated first responders at the Highland Volunteer Fire Department in McCandless and present recognition on behalf of my office and the House. I am always grateful for the heroic work our firefighters perform to keep our community safe.

Residents are encouraged to share their feedback and ideas by February 28. Your input will help shape strategies to make our roads safer for everyone.

Supporting Education for Our Next Generation of Military Leaders

Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) is offering scholarships for the next generation of military leaders. Through the Military College Assistance Program, students can receive a nearly cost-free education at VFMC and within the PASSHE system in exchange for service in the Pennsylvania National Guard.

The scholarship requires a recommendation from a member of the state legislature. If you—or a student you know—are interested in applying, please contact my office to request a recommendation. Applications are due by February 28, so be sure to reach out soon for more information and assistance with the process.
