Takac: more than $100,000 secured for local fire and rescue departments in House District 82

Eight local departments will receive a combined $103,000

HARRISBURG, Feb. 6 – Continuing his work for the safety of his community, state Rep. Paul Takac announced today that local fire and emergency service departments in House District 82 will receive $103,285.68 in state grants.

“Emergency services are vital to the well-being of our community,” Takac said. “At a time when so many emergency and fire services are facing a crisis in funding, these organizations need financial support more than ever. Therefore, I’m proud to see that these local organizations are set to receive additional funding that will assist their operational needs and help keep our communities safe.”

Local fire and emergency rescue departments in Takac’s district and their approved funding are:

  • Alpha Fire Company, $15,000
  • Boalsburg Fire Company, $15,000
  • Howard Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, $15,000
  • Mountain Top Fire Company, $22,598.14
  • Pine Glen Fire Company, $13,826.29
  • Snow Shoe Ambulance and Rescue, $10,000
  • Snow Shoe Fire Company Borough, $11,861.25

The state funding for these fire and emergency services was among 2,336 other approved applicants statewide through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program.

All fire companies, emergency medical services, and volunteer rescue squads are eligible to apply for this annual grant program.
