Scott announces $375,000 state grant for Sawmill Run culvert repair

HARRISBURG, Jan. 18 – State Rep. Greg Scott announced today that Norristown has been awarded $375,000 in state funding for Phase III of the Sawmill Run Creek Culvert Repair Project.

The grant originated from the Department of Community and Economic Development and Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Flood Mitigation Program.

“Thanks to the Shapiro administration’s recognition of Sawmill Run Creek as a vital project with these funds, we are funding the next phase of work from a larger pool of money at the state level,” Scott, D-Montgomery, said. “Doing so helps us keep local taxes down and still get needed work done to our infrastructure.

“It’s an honor to help connect local projects with state funding. I look forward to connecting with more area project leads.”

Projects authorized by a flood protection authority, the Department of Environmental Protection, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, or the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, or identified by a local government for flood mitigation, are eligible for the program.
