Light opens at Richland Avenue and Fifth Street intersection
Rep. Nick Pisciottano May 1, 2024 | 2:39 PM
DRAVOSBURG, May 1 – The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is opening a new traffic signal ahead of schedule at the intersection of Richland Avenue and Fifth Street, state Rep. Nick Pisciottano announced today.
“This new signal will make a busy intersection much safer for both pedestrians and drivers,” said Pisciottano, D-Allegheny. “Implementing traffic infrastructure is often a very slow process; there’s a lot of red tape to get through. I’m pleased with how quickly we were able to make this happen thanks to coordination between the Turnpike Commission, PennDOT, Allegheny County, Dravosburg Borough, and other local leaders. It speaks volumes about our community’s ability to solve problems when we work together.”
Pisciottano said the temporary signal will be replaced by a permanent signal in the next two years as part of the PTC’s Mon/Fayette Expressway PA Route 51 to I-376 Project.
