Pisciottano announces $50,000 to build local ATV park

Grant funds will support construction of recreation area for off-road vehicles

GLASSPORT, Jan. 26 – State Rep. Nick Pisciottano, D-Allegheny, announced today that Glassport Borough has been awarded $50,000 in state grant funds to aid the construction of an ATV park.

“I’m very excited to see new recreation opportunities in our community,” Pisciottano said. “This project will transform previously undeveloped land into an off-road vehicle park that I know local residents will enjoy for many years to come. When built, this facility will be unique in Western Pa. and a wonderful asset for Glassport and the Monongahela Valley communities.”

Pisciottano added that the borough plans to use this grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development to construct a roadway, storm drainage, masonry building, and a parking area to provide access to the park.

In November, the project was awarded an additional grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.
