Bucks area lawmakers present citation to local advocate and fundraiser for people affected by MS
Rep. Brian Munroe September 17, 2024 | 2:54 PM
DOYLESTOWN, Sept. 17 – State Reps. Tim Brennan and Brian Munroe, both D-Bucks, recently presented a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to Bucks County resident Joseph "Smiley" Terinoni for his efforts to raise money and advocate for local people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
This is Terinoni’s 20th straight year participating in the Bike MS: City to the Shore Ride with a group of friends and relatives, known as "Team Smiley." Brennan said people might recognize Joe from the Bagel Barrel in Doylestown where works and has provided residents the opportunity to contribute to charities.
According to Brennan, Terinoni has raised $50,656 and counting toward events organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley, including his 20-year involvement in its annual bike race, charity bowling events and other organized events.
“Joe is a tireless advocate and fundraiser for people living with Multiple Sclerosis,” Brennan said. “His hard work and determination to ensure there are resources dedicated toward treatment, solutions and a cure is so worthy of our admiration and recognition. It is an honor to both celebrate Joe and tell others about his kindness and selflessness in the fight for MS awareness and treatment.”
“Community members and business owners who give back are a cornerstone of our communities,” Munroe said. “Joe is a living example of generosity. My father-in-law has been stricken with MS for decades, so this cause is personal to me, and I very much appreciate his efforts.”
Brennan said Terinoni will be riding in and raising funds for this year’s City to Shore Ride on Sept. 28. Details about the ride and how people can make a donation can be found here: Joseph Terinoni - Fundraising For National MS Society.
