Dear Neighbors,
Tomorrow, Saturday, December 6, join us at the Warminster Township Free Library for a Dog Adoption Meet & Greet and Pet Supply Drive! We’ll be collecting donations of dog crates, toys, food, harnesses and leashes, and towels for use at the animal shelters that care for them.
During the event you’ll have the chance to talk with staff from several area shelters, ask questions about adopting pets, meet a few of the dogs available for adoption, and even start the adoption application process. My staff and I will also be on hand, along with staffers from the Bucks County Treasurer’s Office, to share how we can help support you with pet ownership and more.
The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and requires registration. You can register here.
And while we’re talking about dogs – remember that all dogs two months or older must be licensed by January 1 each year. Online purchases for 2026 regular and senior dog licenses are now available through the Bucks County Treasurer's Office. To apply or renew, visit: https://www.doglicenses.us/PA/Bucks/.
You can also get a dog license by mail or in person at the Treasurer’s Office. Please note that all documents must be original (no photocopies), and checks should be made payable to Bucks County Treasurer.

Kicking Off the Holidays at the Warminster Tree Lighting
|
I had a great time on Monday at Warminster Township’s 3rd Annual Tree Lighting! Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Warminster, the event featured the William Tennent High School Chorale and Madrigal Singers, a snow zone with Elsa and Olaf, hot cocoa and a chance to see Santa. Despite very cold weather, it offered a cozy kickoff to the holiday season.

Understanding Your Electric Bill
|
On Monday energy supply prices adjusted, which means a higher electric bill for many ratepayers across Pennsylvania. This change is applied to the electricity you use, so as we’re headed into the winter months it’s a good time to prepare for not only the increase in the cost of electricity, but also the increase in usage people usually see as the weather gets colder. Weatherize your home by sealing drafts and replacing your furnace filter, and explore other energy-saving tools.

LIHEAP now open for applications
|
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program opened for applications this week! You can submit your application for energy assistance here.
LIHEAP benefits help approximately 300,000 Pennsylvanians stay warm each year. The program provides cash grants ranging from $200 to $1,000 to help pay heating bills, based on household size, income, and fuel type. Grants are one-time payments sent directly to your utility provider and will appear as a credit on your bill statement.
Visit the LIHEAP webpage for information on eligibility. If you need help understanding the program or submitting your application, please call my office at (215) 323-6997. We’re always happy to assist!
