Madsen and Fleming to hold free community shred event Aug. 26

HARRISBURG, Aug. 15 – State Reps. Dave Madsen and Justin Fleming, both D-Dauphin, will host a free shredding event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 26.

The event will take place at the John Harris High School, 2451 Market St.

Residents may bring up to three boxes or bags of documents containing personal information.

"Our free shredding event offers residents a chance to responsibly declutter and dispose of personal info safely. Shredding prevents misuse and helps keep our community private and secure,” Madsen said. “Join us in protecting your privacy and the environment."

“I cannot stress enough how this shredding event is one of best ways to ensure that your confidential and sensitive documents are properly disposed of, and your information is not used without your knowledge,” Fleming said. “I hope that residents take advantage of this free service that protects their personal security in an environmentally safe way.”

Staff will be on hand to answer questions about state resources and will have information available about state and community programs. For further information, please contact Madsen’s office at (717) 986-1673, or Fleming’s office at (717) 230-1172.
