Fleming: Over $486,000 in grant funding secured for two community career pipeline programs

HARRISBURG, March 2 – State Rep. Justin Fleming announced today that $486,000 in grant funding was approved for two career pipeline programs across southcentral Pennsylvania.

The funding is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s Schools-to-Work Program.

Fleming supported the following projects:

$250,000 to The Manufacturers’ Association of South Central PA for its Manufacturing Applied Technologies Talent Ecosystem project. The project’s funding will expand the Pre-Apprenticeship Schools to Work program to other areas and purchase necessary equipment to keep the curriculum relevant, updated and ready to meet the needs of future modern manufacturing.
$236,226 to the Susquehanna Township School District to establish and operate a Pre-Apprenticeship Program, Preparing Aspiring Teachers for Higher Education, known as PATH-ED. The initiative will be integrated into the district’s new Career and Technical Education program and is designed to expand upon the district’s successful Cadet Teaching Program.

“This investment is about building real pathways to careers right here at home,” Fleming said. “I’m proud to support initiatives that give our youth the tools they need to succeed while helping our local employers find the skilled talent they depend on.”
