I was proud to stand with Gov. Shapiro this week as he signed his Executive Order to assist federal workers to fill critical vacancies in the commonwealth’s agencies.
The governor also supported the Civil Service Modernization Act (CSMA), a legislative initiative I co-sponsored along with my colleagues Reps. Dave Madsen (D-Dauphin), and Nathan Davidson (D-Cumberland/Dauphin) and Sen. Patty Kim (D-Dauphin). The legislation would modernize Pennsylvania’s civil service system, which hasn’t been changed in over 80 years. This legislation would streamline outdated hiring practices, expand access to state jobs, and improve recruitment and retention while preserving the integrity of merit-based hiring.
