HARRISBURG, Nov. 12 – State Rep. Justin Fleming, D-Dauphin, today announced two grants totaling $411,500 from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program have been awarded to advance park rehabilitation and trail development projects in Dauphin County.

“Parks and trails are essential to the fabric of our community,” said Fleming. “These investments ensure that our outdoor spaces are safe, accessible and enjoyable for everyone while supporting the long-term health of our environment and our local economy.”

The awarded projects include:

  • $257,500, Lower Paxton Township -- Conway Park Development
The funding will support the rehabilitation and development of Conway Park, enhancing recreational facilities and creating improved green spaces for local families to enjoy.
  • $154,000, Capital Area Greenbelt -- Paxtang Parkway Phase 3 Development
The project will focus on the third phase of development along the Greenbelt’s Paxtang Parkway, which includes trail rehabilitation and maintenance to improve accessibility and ensure sustainable use of this vital community resource.

The Community Conservation Partnerships Program, also known as C2P2, assists local governments and organizations with funding for projects related to parks, recreation and conservation. C2P2 programs are linked with other DCNR efforts to conserve historic resources, protect water quality, enhance tourism, improve physical and mental health, and foster community development.
