Central PA Dems invite residents to Senior Health Fair
Rep. Justin Fleming September 6, 2024 | 9:32 AM
HARRISBURG, Sept. 6 – State Reps. Dave Madsen, Patty Kim and Justin Fleming are inviting residents of their legislative districts to a Senior Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The event will take place at the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 212 N. Progress Ave. in Harrisburg.
“There will be something for every senior at the fair,” Madsen, D-Dauphin, said. “Our aim is to deliver important services and improve the quality of life for area seniors.”
“Our seniors have given so much to our communities over a lifetime,” Fleming, D-Dauphin, said. “We want to show our gratitude by holding this fair where, in one place, older residents can learn about all the resources available to them to help them flourish. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to connect with neighbors. My office staff will be there to answer questions about state programs for seniors.”
“This fair brings many programs, services and products together in one place so that senior residents of the community, their families and caregivers can gain more information about life in our later years,” said Kim, D-Cumberland/Dauphin. “Fortunately for our area seniors, there are many fantastic public partners, organizations and businesses that specialize in senior care. I hope to see you there.”
A variety of vendors will be on hand to offer valuable information on state programs, health care, legal assistance, and more. Attendees can take advantage of free health screenings, including blood pressure readings and hearing tests.
In addition to health services, the fair will provide insights into essential senior programs such as the expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and the PACE/PACENET prescription assistance programs. Information on housing, insurance, transportation, and unclaimed property being held by the state will also be available.
Representatives and their staff will be present to answer questions and offer guidance on a range of government-related services and programs.
Residents can get more information on this event by calling Madsen’s office at 717-986-1673.
