Borowski announces Medicare seminar; holiday donation drives

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Nov. 13 – State Rep. Lisa Borowski will host a Medicare 101 seminar from 6 p.m.  to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at her district office, located at 24 S. Newtown Street Road, Newtown Square.

Attendees will learn more about Medicare, including the most recent updates, from a trained PA MEDI counselor from the state Department of Aging. Topics will include Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medigap, Part D, and the various rules and regulations surrounding Medicare and related assistance programs.

The office would also like to inform residents about its two holiday donation drives currently underway:

Diaper Drive through Friday, Dec. 13 (with Sen. Tim Kearney & Rocky Run YMCA)

Donations of new, unopened packages of diapers, baby formula, and wipes are being accepted. Donations will be given to Healthy Start, Delco Nurse-Family Partnership, WIC, and the Maternity Care Coalition for distribution among the community. There are three drop-off locations:

  • Borowski's office: 24 S. Newtown Street Road, Newtown Square.
  • Kearney's office: 438 E. Baltimore Ave., Media.
  • Rocky Run YMCA: 1299 W. Baltimore Pike, Media.

Winter Wear Drive through Monday, Nov. 25 (with The Wardrobe)

The office is accepting new or gently worn coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to help keep neighbors warm this winter. Donations will be distributed among the community by The Wardrobe. Donations can be dropped off at Borowski’s office at 24 S. Newtown Street Road, Newtown Square.
