Benham, Pisciottano secure $50,000 for Brentwood Park

State grant to fund construction of accessible restrooms, parking lot

BRENTWOOD, Jan. 28 – State Rep. Jessica Benham and Sen. Nick Pisciottano, both D-Allegheny, announced today a $50,000 state grant has been awarded to improve the athletic fields at Brentwood Park.

“Increasing accessibility is a wonderful thing—especially for public spaces like Brentwood’s athletic fields,” said Benham, D-Allegheny. “I’m proud to have worked alongside Senator Pisciottano to secure this investment that will make major upgrades and allow more of our community members to enjoy the park.”

Benham said the award will fund the construction of a parking lot, restrooms with accessible access and fencing replacement.

“I was grateful to be able to work with Representative Benham to secure this grant for Brentwood,” Senator Pisciottano said. “We share the goals to help our constituents and bring funds back from Harrisburg to boost our communities, and it is a pleasure to work with her to do just that.”

The grant is sourced from the Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund, which is overseen by the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County and the state Commonwealth Financing Authority and provide financial assistance to entities to facilitate economic development projects in Allegheny County.
