Bucks County state representatives announce $547K in COVID-19 grants for Bucks County fire, EMS agencies

LEVITTOWN, Oct. 9 – State Reps. Tina Davis, John Galloway, Wendy Ullman and Perry Warren, all D-Bucks, announced today local Bucks County fire and EMS agencies organizations will receive a total of $547,362 in grants to offset the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through Act 26, the state made $50 million in grants available to fire and emergency medical service organizations that were affected by the pandemic. The funding must be used for operational and equipment expenses.

“Our fire departments and EMS agencies have been struggling to keep operations running during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Davis said. “This money will be a lifeline to these frontline workers.”

Galloway said, “Our firepersons and EMS workers are always out there protecting our safety and that’s never been more true than during this deadly pandemic. I’m very glad they will receive funds needed to enable them to continue to perform their lifesaving duties.”

“I’m proud to have voted for this legislation that will help support these frontline workers during this critical time,” Ullman said. “This grant money will help our fire and EMS agencies continue to carry out the essential work they do in our communities.”

“We’re safe because of our first responders and the lifesaving work they do every day,” Warren said. “I’m very glad to see this CARES Act money assist our fire and EMS agencies continue their operations.”
