House Democratic Policy Committee to hold hearing on COVID-19 Impact on Nursing Homes and Congregate Care Facilities Friday in Capitol

HARRISBURG, Sept. 8 – State Rep. Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Democratic Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on the COVID-19 impacts on nursing homes and congregate care facilities.

The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11 in Room G-50 Irvis Office Building in Harrisburg. The media and public are urged to watch the livestream at www.pahouse.com/live.

Requested by state Rep. Wendy Ullman, D-Bucks, the hearing will gather perspectives from facilities in her districts and statewide groups. Testifiers will speak remotely while members will participate in person and remotely.

Testifiers will include: 

  • Sarah Boateng, executive deputy secretary, PA Department of Health.
  • Keara Klinepeter, special advisor to the secretary, PA Department of Health.
  • Jim Brexler, president and CEO, Doylestown Health (on behalf of Doylestown Health’s Pine Run Retirement Community).
  • Doreen Illis, administrator, Pediatric Specialty Care.
