Sturla urges residents to sign up, review ACA healthcare coverage

LANCASTER, NOV. 2 – State Rep. Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced that open enrollment for Affordable Care Act coverage in 2018 is now underway and residents are urged to sign up for healthcare and renew or change current benefits.

“Despite confusion and threats from the Trump Administration, The Affordable Care Act is still in effect and those who need healthcare can gain access through the ACA,” Sturla said.

Residents can shop for plans on their own at or contact a local navigator for assistance at Navigator services are free to consumers.

Local Southeast Lancaster Health Services is one of many local navigators and can be reached by calling 717-917-3756; emailing; or visiting 625 South Duke Street, 515B Hershey Avenue or 333 North Arch Street in Lancaster.

Sturla added, “More than 16,000 Lancaster County residents have insurance through the Affordable Care Act and it’s important that we spread the word to make sure all who need access are aware that it’s out there. More insured Pennsylvanians means healthier Pennsylvanians, health care providers get paid for the services they provide and our economy improves.”

The 2018 Open Enrollment deadline is Dec. 15, 2017.
