ABINGTON, Dec. 30 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez announced that Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership was awarded a $543,250 state grant to support a stormwater management project.
The Growing Greener grant will go toward the Jenkintown Creek Restoration: Alverthorpe Park Stormwater Management Project, which includes installing a new subsurface stormwater basin to intercept the existing storm system and manage a 17-acre contributing drainage area.
“Taking care of our local waterways is critical for our environment and for our community as a whole,” said Sanchez, D-Montgomery. “I’m pleased to help with this continued investment in the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership to support clean, healthy waterways in our community and beyond.”
Growing Greener grants are awarded through the Department of Environmental Protection to support watershed restoration and protection projects, among other work.
