Solomon applauds workforce development efforts in Wolf’s budget proposal

HARRISBURG, Feb. 6 – State Rep. Jared Solomon, D-Phila., released the following statement on the governor’s budget address.

“I commend Governor Wolf for announcing investments in many pressing areas that are both vital for Pennsylvania and for my constituents in Philadelphia. But two items I was particularly thrilled to see in today’s budget address were $50 million for workforce development and the unveiling of a so-called “One-Stop Shop” for businesses.”

“I’ve been fighting for both items in my first year in the legislature, introducing my Schools to Workforce Pipeline Act (H.B. 1522) and PA Business Portal (H.B. 1209). I look forward to working closely with the governor’s team and my colleagues to advance these paramount priorities during the budget discussions to come, so that we can transform how we prepare our young people for their careers and support the many businesses that will employ them.”
