Snyder: Attorney general’s legal woes must not distract from duties
CARMICHAELS, Aug. 12 – State Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Greene/Fayette/Washington, today issued the following statement in response to state Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's refusal to step down from the position as she faces perjury, official oppression and other charges.
“The attorney general faces serious, troubling charges and deserves her day in court. However, I share the deep concerns of most Pennsylvanians who want and deserve the best and undistracted efforts of the commonwealth’s chief prosecutor to lead the fight against crime and drugs.
“I think it's difficult for her to continue as the top law enforcement officer in Pennsylvania while defending herself against criminal charges. The situation makes it challenging for the Attorney General’s Office, hard on her family and friends and problematic for Pennsylvania.”
