Rep. Pam Snyder August 5, 2021 | 1:51 PM
CARMICHAELS, Aug. 5 – Pennsylvania State Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Greene/Fayette/Washington, has issued a statement following the passing of her cousin and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka:
“Our family is devastated and heartbroken today. Richard’s passing is not only a great loss for us, but it is a loss for every working person in this country. We’ve lost one of the most fierce and effective labor leaders our nation has ever seen.
“Richard spent every day of his career fighting for the middle class and working families. He dedicated his life to making sure America’s workers got the wages and benefits that they deserve. His work has improved the lives of middle-class families across the country.
“Richard never forgot where he came from. From his early days in the coal mines of southwestern Pennsylvania, to the most prominent post in organized labor, he always had the best interest of workers in his heart.”
