My House colleagues and I are passing important bills that will help our neighbors and improve our communities.

We passed the PA CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair), which prohibits discrimination based on a person’s hair type, hair texture or hairstyle (HB 439). 

We are helping improve access to heath care by:

  • Helping consumers access the prescriptions they need by aligning Pennsylvania law with federal rules to allow the electronic transfer of certain prescription medications between pharmacies (HB 60);
  • Prohibiting insurers from denying coverage to individuals just because they have an opioid reversal agent in their prescription profile (HB 111); and
  • Easing the shortage of health care practitioners in medically underserved communities by establishing a Rural Health Care Grant program, to aid in the hiring of medical practitioners in places designated as rural or medically underserved (HB 157).

We are supporting and protecting survivors of domestic violence by making it easier for them to receive unemployment compensation benefits if they are forced to quit working in situations where continued employment would jeopardize their safety (HB 274).
