Probst welcomes $452,743 in state funding

HARRISBURG, Feb. 24 – State Rep. Tarah Probst today announced $452,743 in state grants were awarded to improve pedestrian safety.

“My office is in regular contact with local officials regarding projects that would benefit from state investments, and I am proud to advocate on their behalf to the Commonwealth Financing Authority so that we can make these things happen,” said Probst, D-Monroe/Pike.

Delaware Water Gap Borough will use its $200,000 grant to make pedestrian safety upgrades to Mountain Road.

East Stroudsburg Borough was awarded $252,743 to make pedestrian safety improvements.

The CFA provided the grants through the Multimodal Transportation Fund. They may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
