Pielli sworn in for second term as state representative

HARRISBURG, Jan 8. – State Rep. Chris Pielli, D-Chester, took the oath of office at the state Capitol to begin his second term representing the 156th Legislative District.

“It is truly an honor to take the oath of office for a consecutive term,” Pielli said. “I look forward to getting even more done for the people of the 156th Legislative District and the commonwealth with the next legislative session.”  

Pielli was sworn in as part of the newly convened 202-member chamber.

Pielli plans on spending his second term continuing to fight for Pennsylvanians. He's especially focused on providing a living wage, affordable housing, tax relief for working families and seniors, a woman’s right to choose, promoting local business opportunities, and affordable educational opportunities for college and the trades. 

The Pennsylvania General Assembly is currently in its 209th consecutive legislative session, which began on Jan. 1, 2025, and will run through Nov. 30, 2026.

The oath of office was administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, and the invocation was given by Bishop Maureen L. Davis, who is pastor of the Open Door Mission True Light Church, located in Philadelphia.
