Petrarca: $300,000 to assist Indiana County in affordable housing options
HARRISBURG, May 30 – Indiana County will receive $300,000 in funds to help several households with permanently disabled and low-income residents with necessary repairs and modifications to bring their homes up to code standards, state Rep. Joseph Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong/Indiana, announced today.
Petrarca said the HOME program, administered through the state Department of Community and Economic Development, provides federal funds to assist municipalities and local governments in their efforts to expand and preserve affordable housing options for low-income residents. Seven households in Indiana County will benefit from the program.
“The HOME program ensures residents will have the repairs and modifications needed to keep their homes safe and comfortable,” Petrarca said. “I believe everyone deserves a place they can call home, and that includes our most vulnerable citizens.”
A total of $3.4 million will be distributed to 10 counties. For more information on the HOME program, please visit the following website: https://dced.pa.gov/programs/home/
