O’Mara announces $170,000 awarded to local fire stations

MEDIA, Nov. 18 — State Rep. Jennifer O’Mara today announced two grants awarded to fire departments in her legislative district that will go toward critical updates to the stations’ headquarters.

Funding has been distributed as follows through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development:

Media Fire Company: $130,000 to go toward bathroom renovations strengthening ADA compliance, purchasing new equipment and replacing old flooring.

Rose Tree Fire Company: $40,000 to upgrade its deteriorating boiler. This will also help cover the cost of removing the old boiler as well as chimney repairs.

“Both of these grants support the ongoing efforts of our first responders and ensure they have the resources they need to continue protecting us,” O’Mara said. “Rose Tree and Media Fire Companies respond to emergencies all over Delaware County, providing life-saving services to all 49 municipalities. These upgrades will improve their facilities and equipment, allowing them to operate more effectively and ensuring they can continue to serve us when we need them most.”
