Jan. 10 e-mail: New year, continuing to deliver for you

Dear Neighbor,

On Tuesday, I took the oath of office to serve as your State Representative. Serving in the General Assembly is the honor and privilege of a lifetime, and it is a role I do not take lightly. I am so grateful for your trust and support; it’s truly the foundation of my work. I pledge to do all I can to be your voice in the People’s House!

I also want to extend my congratulations to a HERstory maker, the Honorable Joanna McClinton, for her reelection as Speaker. I can’t wait to see all we accomplish together in the 2025-2026 legislative session!

Springfield Mobile Office Hours

My office now has mobile office hours at the Springfield Library every Tuesday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Stop by the top floor to visit a member of my staff in the adult section quiet room. They can assist with state services and answer questions you may have.

Reflecting on an incredible 2024

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our community as a member of the PA House of Representatives. This past year has been about making meaningful impacts—whether it’s securing vital grants, delivering services, or working on legislation that will have a lasting impact. Here's to continuing the work and making 2025 even better!

Blood Drive

Did you know that every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood? By donating blood, you can save lives and make a real difference in your community. Whether it’s for patients undergoing surgery, accident victims, or those battling serious illnesses, your donation is critical.

My office has teamed up with Red Cross to host a blood drive at Morton Borough Hall on Friday, January 24th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made by visiting https://www.redcrossblood.org/ using code RepJenniferOMara.

A legen-dairy day at the PA Farm Show

Rep. Melissa Cerrato from Montgomery County and I loved showing our girls all of the wonderful things our state agriculture industry has to offer at the PA Farm Show! From meeting animals (including goat snuggles with Steinmetz Family Farms ??) to making milkshakes with the PA Dairymen’s Association, we had a blast! Be sure to stop by and visit the farm show – tomorrow is the last day!

Pennie open enrollment ends next week

Pennie, Pennsylvania's health insurance marketplace, is now open for enrollment for the 2025 coverage year. The open enrollment period runs until Jan. 15, with coverage starting on February 1.

During this time, individuals and families can sign up for health insurance plans, make changes to their existing coverage, or renew their current plans. It's a crucial period to secure the health coverage you need for the year ahead.

Pennie offers access to local, certified experts who can guide you through every step of the enrollment process. For more information, visit https://pennie.com/ or call Pennie Customer Service at 1-844-844-8040.

Reduced Retired Registration Income Limit Increase

The annual income-eligibility threshold for a retired Pennsylvanian to qualify for a reduced vehicle registration fee has been increased, allowing more people to be eligible for this benefit. If your annual income is $29,906, you are retired, and you are receiving Social Security or other pension payments - you can qualify for the current $11 reduced rate registration fee.

For assistance with this process, please stop by my office or give the office a call at (610) 544-9878.

Martin Luther King Jr Day

My office will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as we take time to honor his legacy and the ongoing fight for equality and justice.

If you're able, I encourage you to use this day for an act of service – whether it’s volunteering in your community, supporting a cause close to your heart, or simply spreading kindness and compassion. Small acts of service can make a big impact!

FAFSA applications now open

The 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is now available. Students and families can access the form on StudentAid.gov. Families should create their StudentAid.gov account prior to completing the FAFSA.

PA Forward Bridges Tuition Gaps

After the holidays, high school seniors are focusing on their final term and preparing for college by filing the FAFSA. PHEAA’s PA Forward Student Loan Program can help them pay for college next fall by covering tuition gaps that federal aid doesn’t pay for. PA Forward offers great benefits like competitive rates, no fees, and multiple repayment options for PA residents attending school in or out of state. Have your students visit PA Forward Private Student Loan Program for more information.

Sincerely,

PA Representative Jennifer O'Mara's signature image
