EBENSBURG, April 13 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, today announced a $414,000 state grant to support access to technology education in schools throughout the region.
“The past year has highlighted the digital divide that continues to affect students and educators in rural regions,” Burns said. “While we continue to work to address this issue in Harrisburg, grants like this are critical in helping make sure that our children have access to the same technology education as those in larger areas.”
The $414,000 state grant, awarded to Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8, which includes Cambria County schools, will help the organization develop online training and resources in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for educators and students.
