McNeill to lead lawmakers in call for responsible budget

WHITEHALL, Aug. 10 – State Rep. Daniel McNeill, D-Lehigh, will lead state lawmakers and local officials from across the Lehigh Valley at a rally to call for a responsible state budget and to address a few key issues that must be part of any proposed budget.

The event will be held 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Westgate Mall, 2285 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem.

Joining McNeill will be teachers, labor members and leaders and seniors who are concerned about the lack of progress in passing a responsible budget.

McNeill and his Democratic legislative colleagues are committed to passing a 2015-16 state budget that addresses the core issues facing Pennsylvania: a structural budget deficit, a drastically underfunded school system, and rising property taxes for seniors and middle-class families.

McNeill will also be collecting school supplies which will be handed out to students in need in his district.
