McClinton to host SEPTA Key photo ID events in October

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 12 – State Rep. Joanna McClinton, D-Phila/Delaware, will host two events for older residents of Southwest Philadelphia to have their photos taken for SEPTA's new Key photo ID cards.

SEPTA Key is the modern fare payment and collection system being unveiled by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. It offers seniors an alternative to using their Pennsylvania driver’s license or state-issued ID card.

The events locations, dates and times are:

Thursday, Oct. 20

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Walnut Park Plaza

6250 Walnut St., Philadelphia, 19139

Thursday, Oct. 27

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Presbyterian Homes

2050 S. 58th St., Philadelphia, 19143

Lunch will be served at both events.

The new SEPTA Key card will have a contactless chip, so riders only will need to scan it to pay for their ride.

While an appointment is not required to attend the events, interested attendees can call McClinton's constituent service office at 215-748-6712 for more information.

"The new SEPTA Key cards will make it much easier for our seniors to take advantage of the free and reduced travel opportunities available in the region," McClinton said. "I encourage local seniors to get their photos taken now to enjoy the benefits of this new ID and fare system."
