More than $23,000 awarded to the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum

Will support operations of museum, which first opened in 1910

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 11 – The Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum will receive a grant totaling $23,815 from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, announced today.

Mayes said the funding from the Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program will support the museum’s operations.

“This grant will continue to support the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum’s efforts to highlight the bravery of those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces,” Mayes said. “By supporting the operations of this museum, we allow more people to learn about U.S. history, as well as recognize our military personnel.”

In total, PHMC awarded nearly $300,000 to museums and historical societies in Allegheny County.
