Nearly $1 million awarded to 24th Legislative District

DCED awarded more than $8.3 million to Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 21 – The Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program awarded $999,250 to the 24th Legislative District, announced Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny.

“This funding will assist with affordable housing programs, community services, job training, and neighborhood assistance all across the 24th Legislative District,” Mayes said. “With this funding from DCED’s NAP, we have the opportunity to revitalize the community to uplift residents in need and develop our economy.”

The projects include:

  • $380,000 to Operation Better Block for affordable housing programs and neighborhood assistance.
  • $250,000 to New Granada Development for job training.
  • $160,000 to Bloomfield-Garfield Corp. for affordable housing programs and neighborhood assistance.
  • $46,750 to 412 Food Rescue for community services.
  • $41,250 to East End Cooperative Ministry for community services.
  • $37,500 to Bloomfield Development Corp. for neighborhood assistance.
  • $37,500 to Pennsylvania Women Work for job training.
  • $27,500 to Kingsley Association for community services.
  • $18,750 to Negley Commons for community services.

NAP provides funding for projects that assist with affordable housing programs, community services, crime prevention, education, job training, and neighborhood assistance. DCED awarded more than $8.3 million to Allegheny County.
