AMBRIDGE, Oct. 6 – Renovations are coming to P.J. Caul Memorial Park thanks to $280,400 in new funding from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, state Rep. Rob Matzie announced today.
Matzie, D-Beaver, said the grant awarded under the Community Conservation Partnership Program will fund needed investments in a beloved community resource.
“P.J. Caul Memorial Park is a special place for our community where folks gather for ceremonies, parades, concerts and festivals – or just to reflect on the multiple monuments paying tribute to our veterans and military heroes. Renovations are needed, however, to keep the park in good shape for future events.
“The new funding will allow the borough to renovate the plaza, install lighting and utilities, ensure handicap accessibility, and add other site improvements. I want to thank the mayor, council and administration for their collaboration, which provided me with their vision so I can identify and secure the funding needed.”
