Matzie secures $1 million grant for business expansion in Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA, Oct. 31 – A state grant of $1 million has been awarded to support local expansion efforts of the Cronimet Corporation, state Rep. Rob Matzie announced today.

Matzie, D-Beaver, said that the grant to Cronimet will fund a project at their Woodlawn Road location, including site preparation, the construction of three new buildings, and miscellaneous internal infrastructure for the three facilities.

“This investment will spur job growth in our community,” said Matzie. “I have always looked to partner with local businesses to ensure our tax dollars come home. This is another example of pursuing grants to create career opportunities and increase the overall well-being of our residents.”

The grant is sourced from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, a commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are state-funded and cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
