After the majority party voted against suspending the rules that would have allowed pragmatic, bipartisan bills to be considered for vote on the House floor, Pa. state Rep. Maureen Madden highlighted the hypocrisy of the 'thoughts and prayers' narrative, which does nothing to make children and schools safer from gun violence. In the wake of 19 children getting murdered in their Texas classroom this week, the time is now, she said, for actual action and to find humane and sensible solutions for a uniquely American crisis.
