Rep. Maureen E. Madden April 19, 2022 | 4:06 PM
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure and honor of attending a ribbon-cutting and dedication event of the Rodale Institute Pocono Organic Center at Pocono Organics in Long Pond.
As my good friend and colleague, state Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, said, this partnership will advance regenerative organic research as well as farmer education at North America’s largest Regenerative Organic Certified Farm. He should know, too, as the Democratic chair of the House Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee.
Also in attendance included the following: Kristen Markley (PDA), Organic Program Coordinator; Eve Adrian (PDA), Policy Specialist; Destiny Zeiders, Democratic Executive Director of the House Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee; Jeff Tkach, Rodale Institute’s Chief Impact Officer; Ashley Walsh, Pocono Organics Founder and President; Mike Roth (PDA), Policy Director; and Mike Mooney, Pocono Organics Vice President, Strategic Initiatives.
With Earth Day being celebrated this upcoming weekend, Pocono Organics invites community members to visit the farm and learn about the Regional Resources Center on April 23 for celebrations and guided tours.
