Madden: More than $5M in PENNVEST funding coming to Monroe County for wastewater treatment plant

State Rep. Maureen Madden, D-Monroe, today announced the allocation of $5,205,000 in PENNVEST funding to support the Skytop Lodge Corporation's wastewater treatment plant.

The PENNVEST low-interest loan will provide the grant-equivalent of $2,289,550 over the life of the loan.

“This funding reflects our commitment to reinvesting revenues in projects that strengthen our communities,” Madden said. “By investing in wastewater treatment infrastructure, we’re improving and protecting public health, and supporting long-term economic growth in our area.”

The money will be used for major upgrades to the Skytop Lodge Corporation's wastewater treatment plant, including for new influent-screening and influent-flow equalization systems, a post-aeration and two secondary clarifier tanks, a chemical-injection system, and an ultraviolet-disinfection system.
