Kulik appointed to House Consumer Affairs Committee, her fourth assignment

HARRISBURG, Feb. 8 – State Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny, has been appointed to the House Consumer Affairs Committee, which oversees entities that include gas, electric and water utilities; the telecommunications and cable industries; and the state’s Public Utility Commission.

Kulik’s appointment by House Democratic Leader Frank Dermody was her fourth committee assignment, as she continues serving on the House Gaming Oversight, Liquor Control, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.

“I am pleased to have the Consumer Affairs Committee’s important work added to my repertoire of House committee assignments,” Kulik said. “Utilities and telecommunications play a vital role in everyone’s life, so this is a great responsibility that I fully and enthusiastically embrace.”

Kulik also thanked Dermody for appointing her to the new position, saying it demonstrates firm confidence in her abilities. She added that she’s eager to begin work with her fellow Consumer Affairs Committee members from both sides of the aisle.
