Krueger to hold two Property Tax/Rent Rebate assistance events in December
FOLSOM, Nov. 25 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger will hold two Property Tax/Rent Rebate assistance events at her offices in December.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program offers eligible Pennsylvanians money back on rent or property taxes paid. Krueger’s staff will be available to help with 2018 applications on the following dates:
- 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Brookhaven office, 2 Cambridge Road.
- 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Folsom office, 701 E. MacDade Blvd.
No appointments are necessary.
“The deadline to apply for the 2018 program is December 31st, so we want to make sure we help eligible residents get their applications done now,” said Krueger, D-Delaware. “This program is very helpful to many of our community members, and I’m glad to be able to help make the paperwork easier.”
Anyone attending the assistance events should bring necessary 2018 income, property tax or rental information. These events are for individuals who have not already applied for a 2018 rebate – forms for 2019 rebates will not be available until February 2020.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older, and individuals with disabilities 18 or older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 a year for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.
The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975.
