Kosierowski congratulates CTC of Lackawanna County for winning $85,000 state grant

HARRISBURG, Feb. 8 – State Rep. Bridget M. Kosierowski congratulates the students and staff of the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County for earning an $85,000 competitive grant from the state.
"This grant will ensure that students at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County have access to the highest quality equipment to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce. They are learning vital skills for a variety of in-demand careers that our commonwealth will always need,” said Kosierowski, D-Lackawanna.
The grant, one of 55 awarded statewide, comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and will be used to purchase new equipment to train students through its career and technical education programs.
“Grant programs like this one are important to Pennsylvania’s future workforce development needs. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will be sure to advocate for its continuation as we soon begin three weeks of public hearings regarding the 2024-25 state budget,” Kosierowski said.
CTCLC prepares all students for career pathways in the global marketplace by providing experiential learning with the skills and knowledge needed for postsecondary education and employment opportunities that result in self-sufficiency or family-sustaining wages. It offers 27 programs including automotive, carpentry, creative communications, culinary arts, electrical, health occupations, information systems technology, plumbing and heating, welding and more.
