Kenyatta secures $500,000 in state funding for upgrades to OIC training facility

 Reaffirming his commitment to uplifting North Philadelphia, state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta today announced that Opportunities Industrialization Center Inc. was awarded $500,000 in state funding.

“As a public servant, my mission is to help North Philly thrive. I’m thrilled that OIC will use this funding to foster sustainability in our community with new solar panels at their training facility,” Kenyatta said. “I will always advocate for funding and policies that improve lives in North Philly and the commonwealth.”

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program funds the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects that have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity.
