PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 30 – State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-Phila., issued the following statement on the passing of former state Rep. Milton Street:
“It’s safe to say that there has not been another Philadelphia political figure quite like Milton Street. Mr. Street was my first electoral opponent in 2018, and I was his last. Through that campaign I came to know firsthand his fierce determination. He was ahead of his time on issues like equal pay, cannabis legalization, and many others. While we didn’t always agree, my respect for him as an orator, organizer, and out of the box thinker is deep. May his memory be a blessing. My sincere condolences to the entire Street family.”
