PHILADELPHIA, April 13 – State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-Phila., issued a statement on the shooting that took place near Temple University’s campus yesterday.
The shooting took place near Temple’s campus and a SEPTA train station around 11:30 a.m.
Kenyatta said, “The more we continue to delay seriously addressing the gun violence epidemic in our city, the more people will continue to get shot and killed,” Kenyatta said. “I’m done talking with people about resolving this issue, it’s time to put action into addressing this epidemic.”
Police say a 21-year-old man was shot eight times. Responding officers transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where he’s been listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
