Fighting for Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania needs federal funding so it has the resources required to continue critical work. Trump has blocked our access to $2.1 billion in congressionally appropriated funds—an immoral, unacceptable and unconstitutional attack on PA families, communities and economic stability. I strongly support Gov. Josh Shapiro’s action to protect Pennsylvanians, support our communities and cut costs by challenging this funding freeze. I stress that these funds were LEGALLY APPROVED by Congress and are crucial to supporting working families, rural communities and public safety initiatives across the commonwealth. In the face of chaos and confusion, Gov. Shapiro is showing strong leadership and fighting back to ensure that the state can access these federal dollars – funding that was already appropriated by Congress – to continue important work that directly impacts Pennsylvanians.

I am pleased to announce that I helped secure $325,000 in state funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program for area projects.
The following projects will receive funding:
- Eddystone Delaware River Waterfront Park -- Awarded $125,000 for the development of the Delaware River Waterfront Park, including the construction and installation of a boardwalk, bridge, playground, splash pad, dog park, kayak launch, bathrooms, and install benches, tables, and trash receptacles.
- Market Square Memorial Park -- Awarded $200,000 to complete construction plans for the Delaware River Pier Replacement located at the Market Square Memorial Park in Marcus Hook Borough, Delaware County.
These grants are vital to improving the quality of life in our communities in the 159th Legislative District here in Delaware County by providing recreational spaces where our residents can come together. Investments in our area parks will help create and enhance healthier and more vibrant spaces, benefitting everyone in our communities.

Don’t get left in the cold! Home Heating Assistance is Available
Many people are concerned about the cost of heating their homes. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help qualifying families with these bills, and it’s not too late to apply!
LIHEAP helps families living on low incomes pay their heating bills in the form of a cash grant ranging from $200 to $1,000 depending on household size, income, and fuel type. Households in immediate danger of being without heat can also qualify for crisis grants. The cash grant is a one-time payment sent directly to the utility company/fuel provider to be credited on your bill. Remember: This is a grant and does not have to be repaid.
