Isaacson: Increased Recycling is Vital to Pa.’s Future

Funding for municipal recycling programs has flatlined since 1988 and Pa. state Rep. Mary Isaacson is doing something about it. Her legislation to increase the waste recycling fee that trash haulers pay to the state’s recycling fund from $2 to $5 was approved in the #PAHouse Local Government Committee and now goes to the full House for a vote. Isaacson says this isn’t just about protecting our environment; recycling is a big business that employs tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians.
