$6.5 million in grants awarded to community organizations within Mayes’ district

Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, has announced $6.5 million in grant funding from the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which will support multiple renovation projects within her district, the 24th Legislative District.

Mayes said that the following projects in her district have been awarded funding:

  • $600,000 to TomTom24 Development LLC for interior and exterior improvements to bring a long-time vacant structure back into productive economic use.
  • $2,146,517 to Hellbender Pittsburgh AI Driven for a new facility.
  • $1,500,000 to Kelly Strayhorn Theater to fully renovate the space for several types of production and hospitality spaces.
  • $500,000 to MLK Center for Scientific Excellence to complete the renovation and expansion of The Citizen Science Lab’s Hill District Headquarters.
  • $500,000 to Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation for the Negley Rotunda restoration.
  • $400,000 to The Neighborhood Academy for their new Innovation Wing.
  • $500,000 to the City of Pittsburgh for Bedford Choice Linear Park.
  • $350,000 to PCHS Homewood Complex II.

“These investments are about creating opportunity in every corner of our community. From expanding educational opportunities and supporting the arts to revitalizing vacant properties, advancing innovation, and strengthening neighborhood infrastructure, this $6.5 million in RACP funding will help transform communities across the 24th Legislative District. I’m proud to have advocated for these projects and grateful to see this critical state investment supporting organizations that are creating jobs and building a stronger future for our residents.”
