Bizzarro announces $450,000 grant for Fairview Fire & Rescue

Grant will be used to purchase new pumper truck

ERIE, Aug. 22— Representative Ryan Bizzarro secured state funding for Fairview Fire & Rescue to purchase a new fire truck, and he presented the first responders with the state grant funding at the Fairview Fire & Rescue Hall Wednesday night.

“These volunteers answer our calls for help without hesitation - when they came to me for help, I didn't hesitate to do my part to help them protect our community," said Bizzarro, who represents Fairview and Millcreek Townships. “It is a top priority of mine to make sure our first responders have everything they need to save lives and protect property.”

Fairview Fire and Rescue has been in need of a new pumper truck, which is used to deliver water to fight fires, but the cost was nearly $1 million to purchase. This state investment makes it possible to purchase the truck sooner and get it into service protecting the community.

Today’s announcement furthers Bizzarro’s commitment to secure state funds for local first responders that need updated equipment both in his district and throughout Erie County. During the 2023-24 legislative session, Bizzarro has secured nearly $60 million for Erie County projects—including nearly $4 million this year.
