Cruz praises Latino Clergy Day celebration
HARRISBURG, Sept. 20 – State Rep. Angel Cruz, D-Phila., chairman and founder of the Latino Affairs Caucus, today applauded the celebration of the Latino Clergy Day at the PA House as part of Hispanic Heritage Month festivities.
A group of more than 20 pastors from around the Commonwealth were welcomed at the Capitol and met with members of the Latino Caucus. They also took the opportunity to discuss issues impacting Hispanics in Pennsylvania.
“I believe this was a remarkable way to kick off the Hispanic Heritage Month. I feel honored to bring this special group to the Capitol,” Cruz said. “The clergy also prayed for victims of Hurricane Fiona after the island was hit with massive flooding and mudslides. This was a meaningful way to embrace our culture and heritage.”
The group -- led by Robert Albino, Church Ambassador Network outreach coordinator/Latino engagement -- was also recognized on the House floor and had their picture taken with Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler.
