Kenyatta Issues Statement on Russian Invasion of Ukraine

HARRISBURG, Feb. 24 – State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-Phila., issued a statement on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine as this despicable invasion by Vladimir Putin and Russian Federation forces causes unnecessary pain and destruction across the country,” Kenyatta said. “Pennsylvania has the second largest Ukrainian population in the United States, and I want them to know that they have my support. I have a thriving Ukrainian faith community in my district, and we have been in touch about how to support them during this time.”

Kenyatta said that he has drafted a resolution to condemn Putin’s actions and is asking that it be passed swiftly to “show our solidarity for the people of Ukraine.”
