Southeast Delegation elects Malagari treasurer

HARRISBURG, Feb. 5 – The House Democratic Southeast Delegation today elected state Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, treasurer.

“I would like to thank all of the delegation members, and specifically chairwoman Rep. Margo Davidson, for their willingness to elect me to this position and the support they’ve shown me during my time in the House,” Malagari said.

Malagari will replace state Rep. Steve McCarter, D-Montgomery, as the delegation’s treasurer. McCarter announced on Facebook in November he will not seek another term in the House and plans to devote his time to environmental causes.

The Southeast Delegation has 35 members, including 14 freshmen representatives elected in 2018.

Malagari, one of those 14 freshmen representatives, is a Lansdale native. He previously served as one of the youngest council members on Lansdale Borough Council.
